Money is either one of the most talked about or least talked about subject in Christian circles. It is also one of the areas in which Believers are in the most bondage.
I know people who are so obsessed with money (or their lack of it) that it controls their every movement. I also know people who are so “thrifty” that every decision they make is based on “whether it’s a good deal” or not. There are also others whose main goal in life is to make as much money as they can.
Jesus teaches alot about money and the god Mammon is still working overtime in our world today.
Stay tuned for a practical, Bible-based training about money and how we should view the blessings that God bestows upon us. It’s called the Financial Success Academy.
I do not believe God wants His people to live in poverty – how would God be glorified in that? He is a God that owns the cattle on a thousand hills (can you imagine how wealthy that seemed to people in the days where most could not even afford one cow?) and Jesus said that He came so that His followers could live an abundant life.
But it seems like the increase in the prosperity gospel has distorted the way people think about money and God’s blessings – either you are in the “have” camp or the “have not” camp. But money needs to be viewed as a “resource” – just like anything else. It’s a tool to accomplish other things – good or bad.
